Petworth House
Information for Visitor's
Entrance Fees:
The cost of entrance to the park is approximately £6.00 per adult with various reductions available
according to status and parties. The Park and Pleasure Grounds are free to enter as is the Servant's Block.
Disabled Facilities:
All areas of Petworth are easily accessible with the exception of the bedrooms which are open on
Tuesdays & Wednesdays only. Free courtesy carriage between car park & House and limited
reserved parking at Church Lodge for orange badge holders. Free Braille guide and wheelchairs
for indoor use. Guide dogs and hearing dogs only in the House.
Conservation:
Footwear - Sharp-heeled shoes and muddy boots can cause irreparable damage
to floors and carpets. Alternative footwear is provided at the front door
Bags - To protect the contents of the House, please leave large bags, rucksacks,
etc. at the front door or in your car.
Photography - Visitors may take pictures outdoors only. Filming or photography
is not allowed indoors.
Dogs - Please exercise dogs in the park only under close control to avoid
disturbing the deer. Please do not bring dogs into the Pleasure
Ground. There is access to the park from the House car park.
Coach Parties & Functions: Please contact the Administration Office if you are interested
in bringing a party to Petworth or arranging a special event or guided tour.

Main Guide - a full colour history of the families collections, architecture and landscape of Petworth.
Short Guide - a short tour of the House highlighting the main features. Also available in several languages
on loan, and in Braille and large print free of charge.
Guide to the Servant's Quarters - a full colour guide to 'below stairs' life. Available in Braille.
Children's Guide - an activity based guide written for children. Children's quizzes are also available.
Park Guide - a map and history of the park written and photographed by the Head Gardener.
