The Pepper Pot - Brighton

The Pepper Pot, as it's long been known, once stood in the grounds of
a villa designed for Thomas Attree by the architect of the House of Commons,
Sir Charles Barry.
It was used as an observation tower during the second world war, but it's
original purpose (other than to look striking) isn't known. The villa
itself was completed in 1830 and demolished in the 1970s.
Note, a little to the East, a small kiosk at the entrance to the Carn
Court block of flats. This was Attree's garden temple.
