Above the photographs show the benches as they would have been laid out, complete with an assortment of masks and other accessories laid out for view during the open day. The right hand photograph shows the toilet facilities for the men, which consisted of two large metal buckets. The ladies had a single WC between two tunnels which was at the end of the other connecting tunnel. As you can see, the facilities were very basic.

Above is a close-up of the masks and other accessories which were taken into the tunnels during an air-raid alert.
Of course, it must remembered that unlike London and other large cities where bombing went on for some hours, if not longer, these tunnels were only for very short periods of use and although they look very uncomfortable, they were undoubtably better than the risk on the outside.
