ST.MICHAELS SCHOOL
Moat Road, East Grinstead, Sussex. On A22
In the spring of 1965 several young pupils at this Anglo-Catholic school
for girls, once connected with a nearby convent, were frightened by seeing
the ghost of a former occupant.
She appeared at 10.30 in the evening in a suddenly created 'aura of an
evil atmosphere' on the ground floor looking silently up the stairs. According
to one of the girls, she was about 5ft 4in tall with long white hair and
with an 'incredibly evil face'.
The atmosphere remained for some minutes, long enough for the figure to
be seen by three girls walking through the hallway, one of whom stated that
she felt it brush past her.
A few days later several other girls and a member of the staff reported
that they had heard footsteps pacing up and down a passage leading to the
hall.
