Some Church Fonts
The diversity of the fonts in Sussex is of
great interest to the antiquarian, especially those of ecclesiastical studies.
The fonts of Sussex were made from Chalk,
Lead, native Sussex marble and stone, of which there are many varieties.
Designs of the fonts are also pleasing with
many being made by master craftsmen of their day, and considering the age
of some, have weathered the years well. Some of the fonts seen in these pages
can also be viewed on the relevant church pages which may have a link directly
to it at the bottom of each page if one exists.
